Presstek says the 52DI is a highly automated 52cm landscape sheetfed four-colour press that combines the efficiency of an all digital workflow, with the quality of conventional offset.
Tim Sawyer, director, Asia Pacific rim at Presstek says that PacPrint marks the first time the press is available in Australia. He adds the press is not limited by substrate, printing on almost anything from tissue paper to board.
Sawyer says, “A lot of digital printers are finding the 52DI interesting because they know what their limitations are with toner, but we don’t compete with toner based machines we compliment them.”
He continues, “We have captured the digital business using offset technology, which allows the user to have the quality of offset while being completely digital.”
Meanwhile, GrafikaLinks says the press prints at a speed of 10,000 sheets per hour, and allows the printer to reduce waste by eliminating ink/water balance and sheet transfer.
