Print managers lend a hand to paragon workers

David Ross from administrator Hall Chadwick told Australian printer that the majority of the workers have returned to their jobs while 24 employees remain stood down at this time.

Ross says, “The blockade was lifted on Friday and since then a majority of the employees are back at work and negotiations are back on the table. We are trying to secure a sale where as many workers as possible will keep their jobs.”

Print managers PMA Solutions, Adelaide Business Forms and Ebisprint have pledged $15,000 to help workers at the Wodonga print shop.

Natasha Ankus, national business services manager at PMA Soultions says, “As independent print managers, we have been following the story of Paragon Printing and were concerned for the workers.  We understand there are a number of staff who have been working with this company for decades, who have been affected and being in the same industry, we feel obligated to help them.”

Ankus continues, “A relief fund administrator will give the money directly to the workers who need it most. We want the workers to know that the industry is looking out for them and we hope the money will help them during this difficult time.”

The directors of the three print managers say they hope this will spur others in the industry to donate. Those interested in making a contribution to the fund can contact Natasha Ankus, PMA Solutions on (02) 9629 0800.
