Printers invited to talk to Qld govt

The Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works is inviting printers to participate in an industry feedbacks session next week to discuss print opportunities over the next two years.

Specifically it is requesting, ‘Queensland Government Procurement (QGP), Department of Housing and Public Works would like to invite organisations with the capability to provide print services to the Queensland Government to attend a feedback session on the delivery of print services to the Queensland Government, both now and into the future’.

Topics for discussion will include what is working well (and what is not) with the current engagement with Queensland Government; key challenges to the industry, now and going forward; key opportunities across the industry in the next 24 months; ideas on appropriate engagement model going forward; and delivery of service in regional centres.

The feedback session is exclusively for commercial printers, and excludes managed print services, design, marketing, PR, advertising and media monitoring.

Mel Ireland, national president, LIA says, “It is always important for government and industry to have open lines of communication. The invitation for printers to give feedback on the procurement of state government print should be welcomed by industry.”

The facilitated session will be conducted next Wednesday November 8 at the Auditorium, 111 George Street, Brisbane at 10:00am. Printers can attend in person or participate in a live stream.
