
Printpoint managing director Alan Rhodes told ProPrint last Tuesday (23 November) that the company was not in administration, despite industry speculation. “There’s an offer to purchase the business. There’ll be a formal announcement next week,” he said last week.
Rhodes did not respond to request for further comment this week.
Two suppliers told ProPrint this morning that they expected further developments imminently, likely within the next day or two.
ProPrint spoke to one company which confirmed it had made an offer, though it is unclear whether this is for all or part of Printpoint.
ASIC documents show Printpoint changed its name on 23 November to ‘Red Gum Pacific Pty Ltd’.
Printpoint claims to be Queensland’s only dedicated ‘waterless’ printer. It is based in the suburb of Stafford and also has a sales office in Sydney.
The company won the Heidelberg Award for Excellence in Craft at last year’s National Print Awards for its work on the Palazzo Versace Cookbook (pictured).
The company is also a regular winner at the Queensland PICAs, picking up three golds at the 2009 awards and four awards in 2008, as well as the Judges Choice award for the best overall entry.
