The company has installed a Rapid RP250 hot foil-stamping machine with re-register facilities to Chilean label printer, AYC Impresores.
To be used in conjunction with its UV Flexo press for the embellishing of high quality wine labels by hot foil and embossing, AYC purchased the machine without even seeing one following strong recommendations from industry colleagues in Argentina and Brazil.
A second special purpose converter has also been purchased by the ICMC Group in Chennai, India, which holds major contracts for the supply of plain paper labels to the wine and spirits industry in India.
The Rapid converting machines take gravure and flexo printed web and apply hot foil stamp embellishing, embossing and die cutting then sheet and stack the finished sheets of labels at high speed. Printing up to 81,000 labels per hour is possible.
Successful trials resulted in approval to ship this second machine and a request from ICMC for Rapid to design and build a special purpose sheeter for the company.
California based print group, Bay Area Labels has taken delivery of its fourth specially modified Australian designed and built Rapid Label Press.
Rapid used its well known RP hot foil stamping press as the basis for a special construction involving 2 laminating stations and integrated variable information printer on line.
Not only does the machine print variable information but it also prints four colours and die cuts the shapes in up to 1.2mm thick synthetic stocks.
