Ricoh has launched PaperCut 20.0 in Australia which it says enables organisations to extend the capabilities of their Ricoh devices in line with business growth.
The PaperCut print management software is embedded in Ricoh’s printers, photocopiers and multi-function devices and enables users to monitor and control their organisation’s print output with administrative tools that can be accessed anywhere on the network.
The new features of PaperCut 20.0 include self-service printer installation, mobile and cloud functionality, automatic application server failover, and integration with third-party reporting tools, including Epic for the healthcare vertical.

The Print Deploy features boast “self-service” functionality that reduces labour costs for administrators while simultaneously offering users greater flexibility. This allows organisations to deploy printers that can then be automatically installed or optionally installed by the user.
In addition, remote users now benefit from the availability of a new Cloud Print service. Designed as a simple and secure cloud printing tool for users looking to fill the void left by Google Cloud Print, this service lets users easily print documents even when they’re not connected to their company’s network. Cloud Print is free for all PaperCut customers.
Businesses can also safeguard availability and protect against printer downtime thanks to Automatic AppServer Failover. Designed particularly for businesses vulnerable to downtime that are using a network load balancer, this maximises PaperCut Application Server uptime, offering the security of built-in system redundancy.
For organisations in the healthcare industry, the new electronic medical records integration also offers access to a broad and powerful range of print management tools, including Epic. PaperCut’s newly designed web service receives jobs from the Epic Print Server, resulting in a more efficient process and more reliable record keeping. Thanks to Epic compliance and further Cerner support, hospitals and healthcare providers can now take advantage of features like secure printing, Find-Me printing and print log tracking.
