Roland offers VersaWorks rip training

Wide-format specialist Roland DG (Roland) is offering training on its rip software, VersaWorks and VersaWorks Duel, to users around the country.

Taking place over the year, VersaWorks: Beyond the Basics begins in Sydney on April 11, moving to Melbourne May 1, Brisbane May 31, Adelaide July 18, and Perth on August 15.

It then returns to the most populous cities, Sydney on October 9, Melbourne October 24, and Brisbane on November 7.

Roland says that since 2009, Roland DG’s VersaWorks training courses have been responsible for accrediting more than 600 students.

“Over 95 per cent of those surveyed have said that they would recommend the course to others and many more have given positive feedback on how relevant, informative and easy-to-understand the course is.”

Roland quotes Vicki Wesley of Grove Wesley Design Art as saying, "Having used VersaWorks for eight years, I have not used or known the program to its potential. This course was well worth doing.”

It also notes Rakesh Kapadia of Rax Signs and Designs as saying, “There is a lot this program can do. You only know it when you do this course.”

Run by Roland trainers, students learn on Roland-supplied laptops in classes of 8 or less, with the trainer working closely with students to develop their skills and knowledge of the programs.

Roland says the main areas covered in VersaWorks: Beyond the Basics are ICC profile creation demonstration, colour management, printer calibration, set up and maintenance, settings and features including variable data, custom cut, step and repeat, and special colour plate generation, advanced production techniques and tips, workflow automation.
