Salmat has purchased South Australia’s largest digital printing business, Endeavour Print Digital, with a view to incorporating the company into its Adelaide business, thus adding to Salmat’s already wide-ranging print portfolio.
Endeavour Print was established by Neville and Kay Anderson in the early 1990’s as an offset printing business servicing the southern suburbs of Adelaide and experienced steady growth. The company soon moved into digital print and became a leading supporter and customer of the Xerox Docutech systems, installing the first Docutech 6180 driven by a Digipath system in the country.
Endeavour’s success in the South Australian market was exemplified by the South Australian Government and University of Adelaide contracts the company held.
Salmat’s purchase of Endeavour means that the company can add the production of newsletters and full colour brochures to its list of services. Building plans can also be printed with Endeavour’s Océ Plan Printer.
“We are very excited about this opportunity. Traditionally, Salmat only handled the printing of items with variable data such as bills and statements, where every document is personalised with a customer’s name, address and account details,” says,” says Salmat state manager for document management solutions Melinda Cooper.
“This acquisition combines our existing print expertise with that of an established player in the non-variable market. Leveraging EP Digital’s capabilities to expand our range of services has a positive impact for our customers. They can now come to Salmat for all their printing needs. It’s ideal for clients who want a one-stop shop.”
It is believed that Salmat will retain most of Endeavour’s 24 staff. Most were offered permanent positions, while a small number were offered casual opportunities with possible permanency within 12 months.
