Signarama named finalist in franchise awards

Sign and graphics franchise, Signarama has been chosen as a finalist in the International Franchisor of the Year category at the upcoming Franchise Council of Australia (FCA) Awards, which will take place at the sector’s annual convention next month.

This marks the first time the franchise giant has been shortlisted for one of the major categories, however Craig Mason from Signarama Joondalup took out the ‘Franchise of the Year – two or more staff’ category in 2012.

National director of Signarama parent, United Franchise Group, Evan Foster says it is closing in on a major goal the organisation set itself years ago.

“Seeing Craig and his team recognised for their hard work a few years ago, I set ourselves the goal of seeing Signarama up on stage within three years. We are not there yet, but being named as a finalist this year is incredibly exciting, and I cannot wait for the announcement in Canberra.”

Signarama considers itself a dark horse with previous winners Specsavers and Fastway Couriers expected to place highly in the competition.

“We are almost the little engine that could,” Foster says. “When we launched into Australia in 1998, no-one thought we would last or that franchising was viable in the signage industry. We are proud to have proven people wrong, and continue to grow every single year that we have been here.”

The FCA Award winners will be announced during a glittering ceremony at the Canberra Convention Centre on October 11.
