Solito is known for its colour commercial and promotional printing with 64 years in business. Formerly known as Doig & Buchanan, Solito prides itself on being able to maintain a business that offers advanced printing technology mixed with its rich history and strong service record.
Avro Solito, Solito Fine Colour Printers proprietor, says that the increasing demand for colour from his clients was behind the move to the L528.
“We really reached a peak with the old two colour press that we had and found that we couldn’t advance any further into the colour market, even though we were getting more and more colour work coming our way,” says Solito.
“We had to choose whether to go with a four or five colour press, but we went with five colour because of the extra bits and pieces that were available with it, such as perforating and scoring.”
Solito says that the Komori stood out from the other presses on the market because “At the end of the day, it was the most suitable for us”. The large impression cylinders, its compact footprint and the delivery and feed are particularly what grabbed his attention.
“We are very happy with the new press. It has done everything that CPI told me it would do,” says Solito.
The L528 is a five colour, 28-inch press, which can print on sheet thicknesses between 0.04 and 0.8mm at speeds up to 15,000 sheets per hour.
It also features a high level of automation including semi-automatic plate changer, automatic ink unit wash-up, and automatic blanket washers, as well as an in-line finishing system for perforating, cutting, and creasing.
