Trelleborg to launch Vulcan Synthesis Evo sleeve at Drupa

The printing sleeve has been designed for use on all sleeve web presses and features a continuous print surface, which is claimed to provide full bleed printing capabilities.

According to Trelleborg, this means the plate image length is maximised to the available plate cylinder print area.

The Vulcan Synthesis Evo features an internal construction that promotes continuous image transfer throughout the plate cut-off area, which ensures minimal paper waste.

Thomas Linkenheil, managing director of Trelleborg Printing Solutions, said the new composite base featured in the Synthesis Evo provides improved holding power to the press cylinder after mounting.

According to Linkenheil, this eliminates all radial movement during printing to ensure exact synchronization with the plate gap.

He added: “The highly engineered compression layer gives increased value by maintaining printing pressure load over millions of impressions and the print surface compound has been designed with improved abrasion resistance to automatic blanket washing systems.”

In addition to the new Vulcan product, Trelleborg will showcase its new Rollin MyCoat blanket on its stand.

A 2-ply mylar-based strippable coating blanket, it is available in three thicknesses, 1.96mm, 1.35mm and 1.15mm and is suitable for use with both aqueous and UV coating applications.
