Ben Carroll from Veflex introduced the new Mimaki UJV300DTF-75 roll-to-roll DTF at FESPA Global Print Expo in Berlin, ahead of the machine’s local launch at PacPrint later this month.
The UJV300DTF-75 enables product customisation and value-added printing on items of all shapes and sizes, including those with uneven or rounded surfaces, as well as sign and interior décor applications.
The UJV300DTF-75 uses a transfer printing method, where the design is printed directly on a glued film, applied to a transfer sheet which is then applied to the object. This further expands application and creative possibilities with reduced risk of misprinting.
“We know the excitement around DTF transfers for apparel and what it’s done in the Australian market for the apparel decorator, and now the UV DTF transfers are doing the same thing for hard goods for all those merchandise and apparel suppliers wanting to diversify into hard goods,” Carroll said.
“This is the first of the big brands releasing a roll-to-roll UV DTF unit, and this is really exciting. It’s launching [in Australia] at PacPrint later this month.
“If you’re interested in branding hard goods, the same way that we do DTF for apparel, this is a really exciting development – a really exciting product and super easy to use. They’ve done really well for design and we can’t wait to be able to release it and supply it to those businesses in the promotional space that are looking to get into UV DTF.”
Also showcased for the first time at FESPA by Mimaki was its next generation of UV inks, ELS-170 and ELH-100 at FESPA. The range abides by EU’s REACH regulation (SVHC regulation) and is GREENGUARD Gold certified. The UJV300DTF-75 uses a unique combination of the two: ELH-100 (hard ink) for White and Clear, and ELS-170 (flexible ink) for CMYK.
Two new printers, the JV200-160 and Tx330-1800, also made their debut. A roll-to-roll printer, the JV200-160 uses eco-solvent inks and offers reliable signage production with outstanding print quality.
Created for the textile and apparel markets, the Tx330-1800 is equipped with a dual ink set capability to switch between textile pigment inks and dye sublimation inks for a more diverse range of applications in one machine.
