Vista’s Ukraine-based Depositphotos offers free war image collection

Depositphotos, a Ukraine-based content platform which was purchased by Vista last October, has launched a free image collection in a bid to provide real-time war photos of what is happening on the ground in Ukraine.

Depositphotes connects authors of high-quality licensed stock photos, graphics, vectors and videos with buyers. Vista acquire this business, along with VistaCreate, in October last year.

Depositphotos and VistaCreate Vice President Vadim Nekhai says the ‘Say No To War’ collection shows the brutal truth of what’s happening in Ukraine, as well as images of protests from around the world and inside of Russia. The image library is updated in real time and free to use, no matter where you are, whether you’re a global news organisation or an individual posting on social media.

Nekhai is also calling on those around the world to:

  1. Watch news from reputable international media.
  2. Call friends and relatives in Ukraine, find out the situation first hand.
  3. Spread ONLY truthful information.
  4. Take to the streets of your cities with peaceful protests, say “No to war!” – as loudly as possible.

Nekhai said Depositphotos and VistaCreate have always had a strong customer base in Russia and have many Russian-nationality team members based in its Ukraine offices. They were friends, colleagues, business partners, one of so many examples in Ukraine that attest to the utter fiction of Putin’s claim that he is attacking Ukraine to protect people.

Below is an English translation of Nekhai’s email, as sent by Vista:

Hello!

For many years we have been creating a product that helps you develop your business and make ideas come true. And we are Ukrainians. Now we have something to ask you.

Right now, a full-scale war is taking place in Ukraine. Russia is bombing residential areas, hospitals, orphanages and schools in our cities. Government-controlled Russian media continue to lie about a “special military operation in Donbas” while civilians across the country are being killed and thousands of people have already lost their homes.

We see it with our own eyes, as most of our team is located in Ukraine.

The truth about the war in Ukraine

We urge you to please not close your eyes to what is going on! This bloody war is not only a threat to the freedom of Ukraine, it is a direct threat to freedom of speech, finance, and movement. The threat to the identity of each of you, each citizen of Russia, who did not start this war, but will continue to do nothing.

A few steps you can help with:

1. Watch news from reputable international media.

2. Call your friends and relatives in Ukraine, find out the situation first hand.

3. Spread ONLY truthful information.

4. Go out to the streets of your cities with peaceful protests, say “No to war!” – as loudly as possible.

Now it’s more important than ever before. Depositphotos team.
