The web offset arm of the Blue Star Print Group has been based on the Shore for several years, but its shift to the city makes it more accessible to its large base of customers spread across the city.
Webstar’s printing is done out of Masterton, where its giant Goss Universal presses print a variety of catalogues and the Telecom directories. However, its Auckland customers form the core of the company’s work.
The shift will affect five employees, involved in sales and finance, who staff the company’s Auckland office.
Webstar emerged in late 1998 after Masterton’s Government Printers was bought by the Blue Star Print Group. While Telecom directories had long been the company’s only print job, the commissioning of a new web press provided capacity for more jobs and entry into the commercial catalogue market.
Webstar has since expanded into Australia, where it prints a wide variety of commercial print jobs.
