Xeikon shows it dares

The company, pushed to the brink by economic difficulties was rescued from potential disaster when it was bought by Punch International. Its arrival at drupa 2004 was not fuelled by great expectations from the rest of the industry, but that is exactly what Xeikon wants.

It has turned up with a new image and strategy. “Xeikon, because we dare” is all about removing the doubts from the industry that have plagued the company since its near-disappearance in the early 2000s.

Punch International CEO Guido Dumarey says that even when the company seemed to be out of the graphic arts scene, R&D continued, and helped to pull the company through.

Xeikon’s product highlights at drupa include the Xeikon 5000, launched in February and designed to produce high quality runs of whatever length, from a few to a few million. The company says it handles monthly volumes up to three million A4 colour pages.
