Agfa develops tablet system for newspapers

The product is delivered as software as a service, which means there are no infrastructure or installations. Arkitex is the umbrella name of Agfa’s suite of products aimed at the newspaper market, like its Apogee range aimed at commercial printing.

Steve Marshall, Agfa’s newspaper manager for Oceania, is hoping to win existing Arkitex customers to the new tablet publishing system, which allows customers to create both static PDF ‘replica’ editions of newspapers, as well as what he called Eversify editions, with rich media and interactivity.

“We have been talking to two or three prospects in the Oceania region about how this product could work for them,” he said.
