Bermuda launches lower-priced embellishing devices at PrintEx

The supplier will be showing off a plate-less hot foil stamping machine for under $10,000 and a “ground breaking” UV coater priced at $6,000.

Bermuda is a subsidiary of Graph-Pak, and recently appointed Julian Bowdler (pictured) to head up the sales and development as it looks to grow nationally.

The company believes that the new machines, which are manufactured out of China and Taiwan, will be the first of their kind available in Australia and “will allow printers to bring yet another process back in house”.

“These machines will revolutionise foil blocking and embellishment here in Australia.”

Graph-Pak director Tom Ralph said he already had 30 customers “on the hook” for the first batch of machines, which are currently en route from Asia.

The plate-less stamps will be aimed at printers currently outsourcing foil printing and have the ability to run most coloured metallic and holographic foils.

“The foiler is quite unique; I don’t know what to compare it to. Traditionally, if you want foiling done, you have to go to a trade house that uses specialised machinery that costs hundreds of grand.”

He said the kit was “ideal for short runs, which are actually the ones that cost the most”.

The ADL330A will print rolls or individual foil sheers and the ADL 3050A has the capability to foil books, boxes and thicker stocks.

Bermuda added that the UV flood coating is aimed at smaller print shops and has the capability of coating an individual business card or an A4 finished booklet.

Ralph said: “Bring your cheque book. We have a container leaving Asia with 50 of these machines.”
