BJ Ball takes over API Foils sales

API Foils will no longer have a direct presence in Australia after deciding to close down its business here and hand over sales and distribution of its products to BJ Ball.

Under the terms of an agreement BJ Ball will take over API’s sales and distribution activities in Australia and New Zealand from April 1. API stock, equipment and certain employees will transfer to BJ Ball and be integrated into BJ Ball’s existing operations and organisation.

API Australia general manager Leo Ivica has been offered a similar position at BJ Ball and will move with key sales and production staff. API facilities in Australia and New Zealand will subsequently close, resulting in the loss of four remaining jobs.

Craig Brown, Group CEO of BJ Ball says, “The BJ Ball team are excited by the addition of API’s well established foils range to the portfolio of products we are able to offer to label printers, carton makers and other customers in the graphics sector, as well as the opportunity to serve other niche markets for API’s specialist products”.

During the transition period, the usual contacts from API and BJ Ball will keep customers informed about developments and coordinate to ensure continuity of service and supply.
