With the introduction of new awards in 2003, the awards now recognise not only creative excellence for in-house advertising but also best tactical advertisements and best promotion of newspapers as a medium.
Also for the first time last year the Panpa Advertising Excellence Awards were introduced recognising excellence in newspaper advertising professionals. These sought-after awards are a major acknowledgment of the many achievements in newspaper advertising by talented newspaper staff in the region.
The Newspaper Advertising Awards form part of the Panpa Advertising Forum, which will be held from March 15-16 at Sydney Convention and Exhibition Centre. The Forum will feature a range of top level speakers who will discuss the theme of this year’s Forum – ‘Growing Your Newspaper Advertising Revenue’. Entries must be received by February 20, 2004.
Award categories are divided into 3 major sections. The John V Sellars Awards For In-House Advertising covers the Best Mono Advertisement; Most Effective Use of Colour in an Advertisement; Best Advertising Feature or Supplement; and Best Campaign awards. The awards are broken into three circulation divisions: Under 15,000; 15,000-50,000; and over 50,000.
The Panpa Power of Newspapers Awards category encompasses the Best Tactical Advertisement, and Best Promotion of Newspapers as a Medium awards, which is broken into under 50,000 and over 50,000 categories.
The Newspaper Advertising Excellence Awards, which must be endorsed by the company’s ceo/gm/publisher, covers Display Advertising Sales Executive, Classified Advertising Sales Executive, and Excellence in Advertising Management categories.
