The 25h consecutive annual event was attended by more than 350 printers, suppliers and supporters at the Adelaide Entertainment Centre, who celebrated their passion for the industry and the excellence of their work.
445 entries were submitted in 35 categories. Peter Mansfield, state manager for SA and NT, Printing Industries says, “This was the second highest number of entries ever. In all 33 companies have shared in the honour of winning the 111 awards presented for 2012, including 21 printers who won a Gold Award.”
Mansfield says, “This reinforces the quality of work being produced by the industry at large in South Australia and the Northern Territory.”
The FujiFilm and Fuji Xerox Excellence in Print Award was won by Finsbury Green. Peter Orel, CEO, Finsbury Green told Australian Printer, “We are proud of our awards success. We have a staff of 160 nationwide, and this means a lot to us.”
Finsbury Green also won Gold in the following categories; One or Two or Three Colour Printing; Leaflets; Booklets, Catalogues, Magazines, non-saddle stitched; Annual Reports or Prospectus; Book Printing, Digitally Printed; Multi-piece Productions and Campaigns; Embellishment.
Peter Lane OAM, chairman of the 2012 PICA organising committee says, “From a national perspective, The SA and NT PICA Award winners did exceptionally well in the 2012 National Print Awards ‘Best of the Best’ structure.”
Lane says, “South Australian printers received six Gold, four Silver and nine Bronze medals, which were 22 per cent of the total medals awarded.”
He says, “For a region that represents 5.7 per cent of national production, this is an outstanding result and one that we are eager to repeat in 2013.”
