Fire damages Nutex Paper warehouse

The paper warehouse of Nutex Paper, in Nicholson Street, Brunswick, has been badly damaged by fire, which started about 1:15am last night. Neighbouring buildings, including a café, have also been damaged.

The fire spread quickly through the premises due to the contents of the warehouse. Firefighters contained the damage to the rear of the brick building.

Victorian police consider the fire in both buildings to be suspicious and are investigating. A spokeswoman said it was too early to say what had caused the fires. A large gas leak had been caused by the café fire and barricades had been erected.
