Fogra-trained colour, workflow expert joins Kayell

Siebeneicher holds a
Diploma in Engineering for Print and Media Technology from the Munich University of
Applied Sciences. He is also a certified engineer for print and media technology
by Engineers Australia.

Focusing on providing technical support for the
growing base of GMG proofing systems and GMG workflow solutions in Australia, Siebeneicher has moved to Sydney from GMG’s headquarters in Tuebingen, Germany
where he was a Technical Development Engineer inside GMG’s research and
development team.

Siebeneicher has been vital in the development of the whole range of
GMG products including ColorProof, Color Server and InkOptimizer. This
positioned him at the leading-edge of colour profiling for various print
standards including ECI, FOGRA, SWOP and Gracol. He was also responsible for the
certification of GMG products at FOGRA.

The recently acquired FOGRA 39L
certification using the latest generation Epson and HP printers was one of Siebeneicher's
most recent achievements at GMG’s Headquarters.

FOGRA is Europe’s
graphic technology research association and employs around 50 engineers,
chemists, physicists and a range of other experts.

For 15 months, Siebeneicher worked
within FOGRA’s prepress department, setting up operational procedures for
Heidelberg and GretagMacbeth colour solutions and preparing and supervising
color management seminars. He also did acceptance tests of CtP systems and
expert opinions on digital proof and image quality.

Siebeneicher’s experience
extends beyond pure colour management into end-to-end PDF workflows, having
worked for over 2 years as Print and Media Engineer with Germany’s Publisher
WEKA Media GmbH & Co KG implementing its PDF/X-3 production workflow and
preflight system. This was prior to his joining GMG.

“Kayell is proud to
maintain the highest quality service for our customers. We are fortunate to
acquire the skills and experience that Andre Siebeneicher brings,” says Kayell
director, Robert Gatto.

"This appointment demonstrates an increasing commitment
to the needs of the local print, packaging, photographic, prepress and
advertising industries by both Kayell Australia and GMG.

"We now have more than
100 GMG proofing and colour server installations in Australia and Andre’s
presence here will provide world-class support to both existing and new GMG
customers."

Kayell supplies professional
imaging, graphics and new media technologies covering every stage from image
capture to print.

GMG specialises in
high-end colour management solutions throughout the graphic arts industry. In 2006 the company chalked up 40 per cent sales growth
worldwide.
