CMYKhub has appointed Gordon Windley to launch the new soft signage division for the trade printing and production company.
Windley has been appointed to the newly-created role of soft signage supervisor managing the new area of the business that is expected to commence trading formally from the first quarter of 2026.
“I have worked in the industry since 2017 including three years most recently as Head of Apparel, Purchasing and Compliance at Bravo Print & Design,” Windley said.
“To be able to join a company like CMYKhub that continues to grow and excel and look after their customers is important for me. Fabric will be my baby here at the new CMYKhub premises in Melbourne. This part of the industry has always been exciting for me – as we get to see what can be made from raw materials which is always an interesting process.
“We are going to start off with core products of soft banners, flags and media walls. We have done our surveys and our customers have told us they are the main products they will be ordering from us – so we need to make sure we whet that appetite first before expanding into other areas.
“At the new CMYKhub premises, we will produce the work on the new EFI FabriVU and then it is straight on to the cutter, off to the sewing team, back into finishing, down the goods lift and out the door through dispatch. We are currently interviewing for two sewing machinists and once we complete our testing and have the people in place to create the high quality products our company is known for – we expect to be ready to go for the first quarter of next year.
“The decision to offer soft signage products is similar to the decision to enter the roll labels market three years ago – CMYKhub researched the market and provided the customer what they want and then continued to build on top of that. They are now producing labels across two full shifts five days a week.
“We know our customers have been asking for soft signage products from us for some time and we are very excited to see what we will be able to offer our trade customers in the future.”
