Heaney to keynote at Heidelberg Women in Print

Heaney, managing director of Queensland’s Heaneys Performers in Print, will report on her experiences in the international print media industry, alongside north American-based counterpart Laura Lawton-Forsyth, owner of family-run Lawton Printing in Spokane, USA.

The event, which has been created for female print executives, will also include a lecture from key-note speaker Monika Schulz-Strelow, chairwoman of the “Women on Board” initiative, FidAR e.V., Berlin.

According to organisers, the event offers women executives from the print media industry a common platform to share ideas and exchange experiences.

Commenting on the event, Adriana Nuneva, senior vice president at Heidelberg and responsible for global marketing, corporate communications, the Print Media Academy and consulting, says, “Networking makes it easy to establish and deepen contacts, to exchange experiences and to discuss business ideas.

“In difficult situations, communication with women in similar business positions might even help to make the right decision. Most of all, young female executives can benefit from expertise and support of experienced mentors.”

Helpful suggestions from other industry sectors will come from Andrea Riedmann, partner audit KPMG AG, who will deliver insight into KPMG’s diversity strategy. Moreover, Antonia Gerke, actress and artist, will round off the series of lectures by focusing on the “women up and coming” trend through art.

The Heidelberg Women in Print International Networking Meeting for women executives will be held on May 6 at the Heidelberg “Sternberg Lounge” with the drupa show.
