HP unveils latest additions to Indigo range at Labelexpo

The company made the announcement at Labelexpo as well as revealing a new entry-level model, the WS4600, which builds upon the existing 4500 iteration offering an effective output speed of 21 metres per minute.

The WS6600 can print on a range of substrates from 12 to 450 microns and builds upon the company’s WS6000 launched in March 2009.

Offering print speeds up to 60 metres per minute in one and two-colour operation, the machine features a mode that allows for CMYK production at 40 metres per minute.

HP’s new WS4600 offers output up to 30 metres per minute in one and two-colour production. It can also print using the company’s invisible ink, ElectroInk Invisible, which allows customers to offer security print applications.

Speaking to ProPrint‘s UK sister title, PrintWeek, Alon Bar-Shany, vice president and general manager of HP Indigo, said in excess of 250 WS6000 units had been installed into more than 40 countries worldwide to date.

“There has been a definite shift to just-in-time digital label production and with these latest models; we are helping businesses do even more with the Indigo technology.”

HP director, Graphic Arts South Pacific, Shane Lucas said: “We celebrated our 10th WS6000 install this year, with three sites already running second presses.

“Feedback from customers, agencies and consumers has been very positive. We are seeing large print volumes from the growth in digital in the areas of labels, flexible packaging and folding cartons on these machines.”

Order taking for both machines begins in October.
