Immij reports $26m revenue and targets 20% growth

Horticultural label printer Macbird Floraprint was acquired in August, increasing staff levels and adding UV technology, diecutting and warehousing capabilities to Immij.

According to its financial report for the 12 months ending June 2011, Immij turned over $26m, but said results were “considerably affected by one-off costs of relocation”.

Managing director Michael Smithe said Immij had booked one-off costs after expanding into an additional site in Mount Waverly, adding that the company expected to increase revenues by about 10-20% in the coming financial year.

“We are constantly evolving and reviewing our processes. We concentrate on what we do well but also keep an eye out for new ventures and opportunities,” he said.

Smithe said the business now employs around 100 staff members and the takeover of Macbird Floraprint had gone smoothly.

Immij is based in Sydney and Melbourne offering pre-press, offset and digital printing, finishing, direct mail and print management services across Australia and New Zealand.

Smithe was general manager of Penfold Buscombe, while fellow Immij director Alistair Hill was managing director of the Promentum-owned company.

Geon took over Penfold Buscombe when it acquired Promentum in 2007.
