PacPrint ends with “millions of dollars in business” transacted

After three years, PacPrint, Visual Impact Expo and the Label & Packaging Expo closed its doors on Friday last week, with its organisers at Visual Connections saying that more than 7,000 visitors attended the event and “millions of dollars in business” were transacted during the show.

“This year’s event was one of the most anticipated – and well subscribed – in recent history and we thank our event sponsors, the industry’s suppliers who made the commitment and investment to exhibit, and each and every one of the people who attended the show,” Visual Connections said.

“We hope you enjoyed the opportunity to review, rebuild and reconnect.”

Some of the biggest sales at the tradeshow include:

The next tradeshow organised by Visual Connections is Visual Impact Sydney and the co-located Label & Packaging Expo. It will take place from 3 to 5 May 2023, at the Sydney Showgrounds.

Visual Connections also confirmed that PacPrint will be back in 2025 in Sydney.

More PacPrint news will be covered in the coming weeks.

  1. Great that you are talking it up. Let’s be honest, the show was not great. Very few visitors, not many exhibitors, timing off (EOFY) and mostly wide format equipment sold. The sheet fed guys didn’t even all turn up. No Heidelberg, no Komori and no Ricoh. Sad, if even the sheet fed digital guys don’t show or have mainly wide format / packaging equipment on the stand.

    1. G’day Fred,
I don’t normally comment on these forums but felt compelled. I have work at many trade shows as a supplier over many years both locally and internationally. I am always grateful that customers make the time to come to the show, instead of me knocking on doors! This Pacprint for suppliers was one of the best. I personally completed over 70 face to face meetings most with demonstrations. Customers were out in force looking at ways to add value to there businesses. It has been a tough time with Covid and the positive outlook from my conversations was infectious. Konica Minolta have hundred and hundreds of leads to follow up & closed many deals on stand. Most of all it was awesome to see our industry out in force at the tradeshow, in bars and Print awards alike! I love it!
      Kind regards Toddy

    2. Fred,
Trade shows are like a prism – people see it from different sides depending on their interests. We all know general print trade shows are getting smaller because the traditional offset suppliers don’t have the budgets they once had. To say the digital sheetfed guys didn’t turn up just because Ricoh weren’t there is not fair. Canon did, so did Fujifilm, Konica Minolta, Curries/HP, and Epson 5 out of 6 ain’t bad eh? And their stands were brilliant. What’s wrong with wide format? It’s part of the printing/packaging industry now and a fast growing one as it moves into industrial areas, corrugated, textiles etc. Our biggest printer IVE has just made major investments in wide format. No one is ‘talking it up’ – the numbers speak for themselves; PacPrint 21//22, though smaller, was a terrific trade show and hard fought for in very challenging times.
