Print Bound has just installed Australia’s first Vutek GS3250LX Pro wide format printer to insource production and keep up with skyrocketing demand.

The OCA subsidiary began production on the printer yesterday at its new Melbourne factory in the old Geon building, and it is now running flat out with new orders.

OCA chief executive Naresh Gulati says the company’s point-of-sale business has grown 150 per cent in the past six months, and a major new printer was needed to keep up.

“We are getting a lot of big orders and our machinery was holding us back, so we have invested in the best technology,” he says.

Gulati says it will help the company bring its wide format work in house and be able to offer a wider variety of trade work.

“We have been involved with wide format work in the past, but this is our first major move into insourcing wide format.

“We are really looking forward to having control over quality for our point-of-sale jobs.”

Gulati says he chose the GS3250LX Pro because he needed more speed and capacity without compromising quality.

“It is a fantastic printer that delivers a quality no-one has ever seen before at these speeds,” he says.

“The machine is a master. It is hungry, it needs more work.”

He says last week’s trial runs produced crisp images that make the work look alive.

“I’ve never seen anything so beautiful,” he says.

Gulati encourages printers to take advantage of the new machine for trade work, saying they can get the highest print quality instead of settling for an entry level or mid-range model they buy themselves.

The GS3250LX Pro, bought through EFI reseller Spicers, features LED cool curing UV technology, curing the ink at 46 per cent cooler temperatures than mercury lamps.
