Printovation deadline draws near

Entries for this year’s GASA Printovation Awards are about to close, with the deadline for submissions on Friday September 20. Printers and designers are encouraged to submit innovative print jobs, designs or communications in several categories; including digital, offset, web printing, wide format, outdoor, point of sale, embellishment and finishing. Garry Knespal, general manager of Graphic Arts Services Australia (GASA), says the awards have seen some spectacular entries in the past. He says, “We are looking at clever and innovative ways in which people have used print to improve a client’s opportunities. “We do look at quality, but we also look at new ideas in using print to meet customer requirements, whether it is printing on a unique substrate, adding an incredibly different embellishment, or perhaps increasing the return on investment through a targeted marketing campaign.”

Past winning campaigns include large wide-format murals, 3D printing, security badges, racing car personalisation and invitations in indelible ink. Knespal adds that the winners need not be multi-million dollar campaigns, and being innovative includes delivering results on a tight budget. To enter, visit the GASA Printovation website. The awards event will take place on the evening October 3 in Darling Harbour, Sydney.
