QLM qualifies for World Label Awards with double-sided label

The 56-staff firm claimed LATMA gold in 'digital print – desktop' for a label it designed and produced for The Earth Centre.

The labels are used on Granite Ridge Wines to raise awareness about a finch conservation program.

The client requested the illusion of a bird sitting in its natural environment, which meant illustrating both sides of the label.

QLM printed two separate labels and self-laminated the 'background' printed on clear to the inside of the back of the label.

QLM used a textured stock to provide the natural look wanted by The Earth Centre.

The front label was printed using Wausau Coated linen stock on the Memjet-powered Colordyne CDT-1600 C. It was finished using an ADIS iTech Axxis digital finishing system.

The World Label Awards will be held at Labelexpo Europe, which will take place in Belgium in September 2013.

QLM also won medals at this year's PICAs in New South Wales, Queensland and South Australia.
