Weko widens its range

Weko has once again extended its model range in the field of powder spraying. In light of the success with the design of the systems in its AP 200 range, WEKO will introduce its new system ranges AP10, AP100 and AP300 at drupa.
The AP10 system is the latest and smallest system of the AP range. This system can be used where optimal powder spraying results have to be obtained under constrained space conditions. Weko says the AP10 is the ideal high-precision powder sprayer for small offset up to size class 0B (50x70cm).

With its powder spraying systems AP110 and AP130 from the AP100 range, WEKO will launch a compact high-precision powder system for small and medium size offset. Since January 2003, the AP110 has become standard equipment for Heidelberg’s Printmaster74 and Speedmaster74n.

The AP300 system, which is also new, will be used in situations where conventional systems come to its bounds. Requirements of the new printing presses for the XXL size, such as the new R900 and the RA205, raise new and interesting challenges for powder spraying systems. The AP300 systems are tailored to the new size classes with a larger powder reservoir and a larger area-related powder volume.
Weko has used its experience in web offset to provide a specifically-tailored solution for digital printing. The WEKO-RFDi system is a self-sufficient conditioning unit for high-performance continuous digital printing systems.

This proven technology of rotor moistening has been tailored to the requirements of digital printing and complex printing lines. To compensate for moisture loss, water is applied to each side of the paper in a controlled and exact manner. This will minimise curling effects. Moisture quantities for each paper side can be controlled exactly and independently of each other so that even annoying curling effects may be compensated.

Weko will also introduce its new generation of rotor moistening called Sigma. In the Sigma design special attention was given to system reliability and ease of maintenance.
Through the rotor moistening systems, WEKO can provide resolutions that will maximize production and ensure dimensional flatness and reduce brittleness and cracking.
