METS provide training for all staff from sales, administration, operators and offsiders to ink store personnel and suppliers. Training is provided on the job with METS trainers/assessors conducting regular visits to monitor and assess the students work.
The new Printing and Graphic Arts Training Packages are now ready and should be available in 2006. There are several changes and improvements with the new Training Packages. Notable changes are in Carton & Corrugated with improved options now available, Printing and Graphic Arts General is reduced to Certificate II level.
Currently METS says it is endeavoring to provide training opportunities for all in the Industry and not restrict training to only trade based options. The training has flexible start dates with no semesters or term.
Courses are available for existing workers to acquire recognition for current skills and credentials to attest to those skills. Courses in print production are tailored to suit the individual requirements of the student and business.
