Straight A’s for Copy Shop

3A has grown rapidly in its four years of operation, and has outgrown some equipment, most recently its EBA 430 guillotine which had provided excellent service for the company over the last 18 months. Looking to upgrade to a model that was capable of handling heavier use, 3A’s Sam Pan was careful to make sure he chose the right model.

He eventually settled on the EBA 550 hydraulic guillotine from TS Wilson and said he was sold on the machine’s impressive productivity – being hydraulic – along with its clean cut and a foot clamp for ensuring total accuracy. While Sam said he considered other machines, they couldn’t offer the quality assurance that came from the EBA 550. The EBA’s hydraulic swing cut provided not only smoother cutting but also higher speed than the other machine’s electro-drive motor. Having an adjustable hydraulic clamp (which can be set anywhere between 250-2000kg) is vastly superior to electric clamping. Jobs that had taken two hours on the EBA 430 were reduced to half an hour on the EBA 550.

Sam found the previous service from TS Wilson efficient and friendly and when he made recent contact with Darren Hales-Owen, Sam was happy to proceed with his investment in the guillotine upgrade.

Approximately half of 3A’s business comes from the Chinese community and half from English-speaking customers. While Chinese newspaper advertisements have boosted that side of the business, much of the English-speaking business has spread through word of mouth. For that, 3A has its quality to thank, Sam says.

“I believe our quality is very good and it has helped us gain many customers. This is also why we chose the EBA 550, because we knew it could provide the quality we needed to service our customers highest demands.
